Reef Pro Bio-EX
Bio-EX is a formula specifically designed to make maintaining nutrient (nitrates and phosphates) levels in a saltwater aquarium easy. Bio-EX contains a perfect blend of organic carbon sources and other elements that promote the growth of heterotrophic bacteria and proper dissimilation of nitrates and phosphates. Bio-Ex has the capabilities to inhibit the growth of nuisance algae and cyanobacteria. It is also possible to control and balance the zooxanthellae population of corals in an effective manner for optimum coral growth and coloration.

For best coloration: For best coloration in corals It is recommended to try to maintain nitrates within 0.02 – 2 ppm

For accelerated growth: For faster growth it is recommended to maintain nitrates within 3-5ppm.

Reef Pro’s Bio-Ex can help maintain phosphate levels to an extent based on stocking and feeding habits in the aquaria. For extreme phosphate control we recommend doing water
changes and adding Reef Pro’s GFO.

We recommend you begin your dose at about 1 ml per 50 gallons of aquarium water. You will need to test nitrates once a week. If your nitrates read above 5 ppm you will need to double your daily dose. NOTE: For best results, test nitrates and make adjustments once a week. Once nitrates are at the the desired level, cut your dose in half. If nitrates read 0, slowly decrease your dose and monitor nitrates closely. When your test kit registers nitrates again, adjust dose to maintain desired levels. Very satisfied- NO3 and PO4 reduced

After 5 years since I set up my 375g display with 100g refugium and sump, my nitrates and phosphates are under control (HANNA test NO3= 3.3, PO4= 7. At one point my nitrates were at 50 and phosphates 66). While the phosphate reduction was also coupled with use of GFO and Rowaphos, I did not use any media for the nitrate reduction. The highest feedback I can give is to the advice I received from ReefPro, and specifically Gilbert, who laid out short term and long term steps to get the nutrient levels down. My DT is admittedly overstocked with fish and I feed Gorgonians and other filter feeding organisms heavy. I am very satisfied with how my system has gotten to this point.

ReefPro bio X I have been using this product for the last four weeks in my redsea X Max 650, no other products will be able to lower the nitrates and phosphate in this tank, I test today and nitrate went down considerably from 23.2 to 6.5. Phosphate went down too but at a lower rate from 0.58 to 0.52 this never happened before. As we all know they both cannot go down at the same rate and speed but as you can see here is going down. Lets clear something here , I am not getting paid to advertise this product I saw it before I try it and it works.

I was battling some dino and algae issues and was recommended to try this product. Not only has it helped me get those issues in check but I now have it on a doser and is maintaining my nitrate and phosphates at desired levels. All of this without any harmful side effects to me reef! Would recommend without hesitation.

I've used a number of products that claim to control or reduce Nitrates and Po4 over the years. Some work, some don't, and some do with consequences. BioEx is one of those gem products that does what it says and doesn't harm your tank. It won't strip Alk and gradually removes Nitrates and Phosphates. I've seen an incredible turn around in my reef tank as well as the tanks that I recommend this product to. Two tanks that I recommended this product to had bad bad cases of Dino. Within a short span of time, the Dinoflagellates gradually faded away and the natural balance of bacteria was restored. I cannot recommend this product enough if you are battling algae, dino, or high nitrates and phosphates! Chris Rabkin
